Kwanzaa is a holiday celebrated by African-American community to experience their traditional values. Some people consider this festival to be misunderstanding substitute for Christmas, one that is. This festival is to celebrate improving the lives of the values of family, community responsibility, commerce, and self. The word Kwanzaa means "first fruits of the harvest." This festival has gained a lot of peopleat national level.
The festival, Kwanzaa was founded in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga. In one of the largest newspapers New York Times, it is reported that about 18 million people around the world celebrate this extraordinary event. Kwanzaa is a seven principles and is celebrated from December 26 - January 1. The seven principles to be observed at length by seven days are unity, self determination, work and responsibility,cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and concentration.
Kwanzaa is not just a festival is a way to share an understanding of how we live as a close association with high society in which we care and share our feelings and understand each other intelligently. To celebrate Kwanzaa, it is important that we work in the first week of December.
